Sinossi

After being ruthlessly betrayed by her first love on the eve of his marriage to another, Beatrice Bennett, the proud heiress to the Bennett empire, doesn't just walk away—she kicks down the door and takes back what's hers. But as she navigates the shark-infested waters of corporate Crestview, she finds herself entangled in a dangerous alliance with Parker Preston, the enigmatic and ruthless tycoon who plays by no rules but his own.

From rain-slicked boardrooms to the glittering heights of high society, Beatrice must decide how much of her soul she's willing to trade for revenge. In a world where loyalty is a luxury and every kiss is a calculation, she'll discover that some alliances are more intoxicating than the vengeance she craves.

Capitolo1

In the absolute heart of Crestview stood a five-star hotel that was a monument to opulence. Gilded beams, intricate frescoes, and a towering silhouette—every detail of the grand structure screamed of unparalleled refinement.

A steady stream of guests poured into the lobby, but the world seemed to pause when a pristine Lamborghini pulled up to the entrance. As the door swung upward, a pair of long legs emerged first, stepping out in pale pink stilettos. Beatrice "Bea" Bennett followed, her statuesque figure hugged by a white cocktail dress that made her skin look like polished ivory. The dress featured daring lace-trimmed cut-outs at the waist and back, adding a sharp edge of sensuality to her elegance.

Bea removed her oversized sunglasses, revealing a pair of cool, almond-shaped eyes that swept upward at the corners, lending her a naturally feline, seductive air. Despite the sharp intelligence in her gaze, the soft curve of her cheeks and her naturally plump lips gave her a touch of lingering innocence. Her long, wavy hair tumbled down to her waist, and as she glanced around, more than a few hearts skipped a beat.

Recognition rippled through the crowd almost instantly. "My God! Look! Isn't that the Bennett heiress? What is she doing here?"

"The groom today is the ex-boyfriend who dumped her!"

"She's definitely here to crash the wedding. This is going to be a bloodbath!"

Bea’s gaze flickered toward the whisperers, and they fell silent immediately.

A red welcome board stood near the entrance, embossed with gold lettering: Wishing Mr. Caleb Clark and Ms. Giana Preston a century of bliss and a house full of children.

A cold, mocking smile tugged at Bea’s lips. She didn't hesitate as she strode into the ballroom.

She picked a table at random and sat down. The lively chatter of the guests at that table died instantly, replaced by a chilling silence. They could feel the cold draft radiating from her.

Everyone knew the weight of the name she carried. The Bennett Family was the wealthiest in Crestview, a century-old dynasty. Since her parents had died in a tragic setup years ago, the old patriarch had kept Bea as the crown jewel of his heart. To cross her was to cross the entire Bennett empire—it was a death wish.

The guests found themselves sweating on Caleb Clark’s behalf.

"Miss Bennett." Giana Preston, dressed in a cloud of white lace with her hair gathered in a soft, romantic bun, approached Bea with a gentle, practiced smile. She held out a glass of wine. "Thank you for putting the past behind us and coming to give us your blessing."

Bea looked at her coldly, the smile on her face never reaching her eyes. She made no move to take the glass. "When did I ever say I was here to offer a blessing?"

"Bea, this is between us." Caleb Clark stepped forward, his brow furrowed. In his white tuxedo, he looked every bit the refined, gentle soul, but he quickly moved to pull Giana behind him in a protective gesture.

What a devoted young couple.

Bea almost wanted to applaud their performance. If she hadn't seen the two of them tangled together in bed with her own eyes, she might have actually believed Caleb’s narrative—that he had been forced by circumstance to leave her.

But the play had reached its final act.

Bea let out a soft laugh and took the glass from Giana’s hand, draining it in a single, fluid motion. "I have no reason to hate you, Giana. He’s the one who cheated and crawled into your bed, dragging the Clark family name through the mud in the process. But I’ve never been a petty woman. This drink is to you. I wish you exactly the kind of life you deserve."

Caleb’s expression stiffened. He forced a strained laugh. "Bea, I knew you'd..."

"However," Bea interrupted, her smile vanishing as her eyes turned to ice. "I expect the stock transfer papers on my desk immediately. Since you are no longer part of the Bennett inner circle, you will return every single share. I’d hate for people to say you only got close to me for the Bennett fortune."

Caleb’s face turned a bruised shade of purple. "Bea, you still won't forgive me..."

"Forgiveness requires that I care, and I simply don't. I don't love you anymore, Caleb. I’m just here to give you a notice." Bea tilted her head back slightly, her gaze flat and indifferent. "This hotel is open only to the Bennett family and VIP members. Since you are neither a member nor a Bennett, stop using our name to run your scams. I’ll consider the first hour of this reception as my gift to you. After that, I don't want to see a single soul left in this room."

She turned on her heel, her stilettos clicking sharply against the marble as she made a graceful exit. The vast hall remained deathly silent.

She didn't notice that from the shadows, a pair of dark, intrigued eyes was watching her every move.

Once outside, she slid her sunglasses back on, hiding the way her eyes were beginning to sting with red. Only when she was safely inside her car did she allow herself to deflate, staring blankly through the windshield.

She had met Caleb when she was nineteen at Crestview’s elite academy. He was the Student Council President, she was the head of the PR department. They had co-managed a legendary school anniversary that everyone still talked about. That was how it started. They had built a life together, or so she thought, until they were officially engaged.

Caleb was three years older, seemingly the perfect, gentle scholar. Bea had trusted him completely—so much so that she had been willing to transfer a portion of her shares in Bennett Enterprises to him.

If it hadn't been for that anonymous text telling her to go to the hotel, she might never have known. She had given him everything, and in return, Caleb Clark had taken a knife and driven it into the softest part of her heart, all while spreading rumors that she was the one who looked down on his background.

Thinking of it brought a fresh wave of pain. Bea slammed her foot onto the accelerator.

The car roared to life, tearing away from the hotel and eventually screeching to a halt in front of a high-end bar.

The moment she stepped inside, the thundering bass of the music hit her, nearly deafening in its intensity. She found her usual booth and sat down alone.

The heavy liquor burned her throat as she swallowed, but soon the sweet, numbing haze of alcohol began to fill her mind, clouding her thoughts.

"Hey, little sister. All by yourself?"

A man who looked like a mangy rat approached her, his face twisted into a greasy, flattering grin. "Going through a breakup? Come with me. I promise I’ll make you forget everything."

Bea leaned back against the sofa, her posture languid, her eyes distant. The man’s pulse quickened at the sight of her, and he reached out a hand to stroke her shoulder.

He felt the silk of her skin for a split second before Bea moved with predatory speed. She caught his wrist and twisted it backward with a sharp, violent snap. The man collapsed, howling in agony as tears and snot streamed down his face.

The bar was dimly lit; dealing with blind idiots like this was just part of the territory. Bea didn't give him a second thought. "Get lost," she said, her voice low and dangerous.

"You bitch! You actually hit me!" the man shrieked, clutching his wrist as he scrambled away. "Just you wait!"

Bea let out a disdainful huff and went back to her drink.

Time blurred. The bar grew more crowded as the night deepened. Eventually, Bea stood up and grabbed her bag, ready to leave.

As she moved toward the exit, the crowd suddenly parted, and a loud, aggressive commotion cut through the music.

"That’s her, boys! That’s the bitch! Don't let her get away!"
