The Moon Remembers: My Alpha Let Me Die
Synopsis
Three years as Alpha Vincent's mate,
and everyone believed we were the perfect pair. I believed it too.
Until he brought Mia, his mother's niece, into the estate.
That's when I discovered his obsessive need to protect her.
Mia cut herself with silverware, and Vincent blamed me for not watching her closely enough.
Mia got bored, snuck off to a bar near the pack border, and was nearly violated by rogues.
Vincent rushed in, pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, then backhanded me to the ground.
"You're the one who corrupted her! Mia almost had her life ruined!"
"Since you love bars so much, you can stay here and be their plaything!"
He severed our mind link and stood by as those filthy rogues degraded me.
What he never knew was that I died that very night, broken, pierced with silver, and drowning in despair.
Chapter1
Three years as Alpha Vincent's mate, everyone thought we were the perfect couple—and so did I.
Until he brought his cousin Mia into the manor, and I realized he had an obsessive protectiveness over her.
When Mia cut herself on silverware, Vincent blamed me for not watching her.
When Mia got bored and sneaked into a bar near the border, she was nearly assaulted by rogues.
Vincent arrived. He kissed her forehead tenderly—then backhanded me to the ground.
"Did you put her up to this?! Mia could have been ruined for life!"
"Since you love bars so much, stay here and be their plaything!"
He severed our Mind Link, leaving me defenseless among those filthy rogues.
Rip!
Before I could react, Alpha Vincent tore my dress wide open.
Bare skin flashed pale under the dim light.
I wrapped my arms around myself instinctively, curling inward.
My wolf, Amy, whimpered inside me.
The agony of the severed Mind Link left her too weak to stand.
Alpha Vincent seized my wrist.
"Stop pretending." His voice was low and flat.
"Always acting so dignified and proper—why drop the act now? You tried to hurt Mia. Did you ask for my permission?!"
Mia's sobbing grew louder.
Alpha Vincent released me, walked back to the couch, and pulled Mia into his arms.
He kissed her forehead and patted her back like she was a frightened cub.
"It's okay. I'm here."
Then he looked at me, his gaze icy, and snapped:
"What are you waiting for? Take her away!"
My wolf, Amy, howled—even now, she couldn't believe this was real.
Tom, the owner of The Broken Chain, seized my arm.
And just like that, Alpha Vincent abandoned me at The Broken Chain.
The back room reeked of stale whiskey and dried blood.
They threw me in. My knees cracked against rough stone—the pain exploded half a second later.
Tom pressed my shoulders down.
"Rachel, don't blame me. Stay here a few days. Alpha Vincent will probably come for you once he cools down."
Soon, the door opened again.
Several rogues walked in.
"Well, well."
The one in front saw me and grinned.
His voice sounded vaguely familiar.
I raised my head. In the dim light, I saw his face—and my blood ran cold.
Kael.
Alpha Vincent's greatest rival. The exiled mad wolf.
Kael lit a cigarette, squinting at me. "Never thought I'd see the day—noble Rachel, reduced to this."
The other rogues burst into laughter.
Their laughter was filthy. Revolting.
Tom forced a smile. "What brings you here, Kael?"
Kael ignored him, exhaling a lazy smoke ring.
"Alpha Vincent's mate, reduced to a plaything. How amusing."
I stared at him, trembling, unable to speak.
I wanted to Shift, but Amy was too weak.
All I managed was a feeble flicker of claws.
Kael laughed, turning to the others. "Can't even Shift, Luna. No wonder Alpha Vincent tossed you out."
My wolf Amy cried out, Vincent… do you really not want me anymore? We loved each other so much…
Someone jeered.
"Kael, now you can finally taste what Alpha Vincent's woman is like."
Kael took out his phone and pointed the camera at me.
"Oh, we're definitely trying."
"Grab her."
Tom panicked. "Kael, she's mine now—"
Kael shot him a cold glare. "Shut it, or your bar won't survive the night."
Tom went silent.
Kael smirked.
"Tonight, I want to hear Alpha Vincent's woman beg me for mercy through her tears."
The car drove for what felt like hours before stopping.
An underground lair on the outskirts.
I was dragged out and hauled inside.
My wolf howled. Save me… Vincent… save me.
He bound my wrists with silver chains.
Silver seared my skin—a faint hiss, like water dripping into hot oil.
I gritted my teeth. Not a sound.
Kael drew a silver shard across my arm.
Blood seeped out, burning like fire.
"Scream," he said. "Why aren't you screaming? Are you this boring in bed with Alpha Vincent too?"
He drew another line.
My whole body trembled, but I refused to beg.
The other rogues tore at my clothes. Fabric ripped—loud, obscene.
I thrashed and kneed one of them in the gut.
He howled and slapped me across the face.
"Feisty." Kael gripped my chin. "I like them feisty."
He drove a silver needle into my shoulder. A muffled groan tore from my throat, my back drenched instantly in cold sweat.
"Such a noble Luna." Kael leaned close. "Let me show you what a rogue's life really feels like. Don't worry—I won't let you die too quickly."
