Bound By Revenge
Synopsis
After a decade in exile, Alpha Kaelen Blackfang returns to reclaim his stolen kingdom and settle a blood debt. His weapon is not war, but a cruel political maneuver: he demands the daughter of his enemy as a tribute.
Sacrificed by her own father, Princess Elara Silvermoon becomes the unwilling Luna of the predator who destroyed her world, bound to him in a union of pure hatred. But their forced bond unearths secrets far more dangerous than their animosity. Buried lies about a past betrayal begin to surface, challenging everything they thought they knew.
From bitter enemies trapped in a gilded cage to reluctant allies against a common foe, they must navigate a treacherous court of politics and passion. As history threatens to repeat itself, can two warring hearts forge a new alliance, or will they build their empire on the ashes of everything they've ever known?
Chapter1
The wind that swept through the valley carried the scent of ghosts.
Kaelen Blackfang stood on the precipice of the ridge, a solitary figure cloaked in shadow and memory. Below him, the territory that had once been his birthright sprawled under the cold light of a slivered moon. Now, it was called Silvermoon land, but Kael knew its true name. He could taste it on the air, a bitter tang of stolen history. This was Blackfang Valley.
Ten years. A decade spent in exile, forging a broken pack into a weapon, tempering his grief into a blade of pure, cold vengeance. He had been a boy when he’d fled, his father's blood still warm on the ground, the screams of his pack mates echoing in his ears. He had watched Alaric Silvermoon, his father’s sworn brother and most trusted ally, lead the massacre. A betrayal so profound it had shattered their world.
Now, Kaelen was no longer a boy. He was an Alpha, forged in the fires of loss and honed by a singular, burning purpose. He had returned.
“The scouts report their patrols are disciplined, their borders secure,” a low voice rumbled beside him. Lucian, his older brother and Beta, materialized from the shadows, his presence a steady, calming counterpoint to Kaelen’s coiled intensity. “Alaric has grown comfortable in his stolen kingdom.”
“Comfort is a weakness,” Kaelen growled, his eyes never leaving the twinkling lights of the Silvermoon settlement below. “He has forgotten what it feels like to be hunted. I am here to remind him.”
Lucian sighed, the sound a soft rasp in the biting wind. “Brother, our pack is strong, but they are weary of war. A direct assault…”
“There will be no war,” Kaelen interrupted, his voice like chipping ice. “War is for equals. What I have planned for Alaric is not a war. It is a reckoning. I will not just take back our land. I will dismantle his life, piece by painful piece. I will take from him what he values most, and he will watch, helpless, as his world turns to ash.”
Lucian fell silent, recognizing the unshakeable resolve in his brother’s tone. For ten years, this vow had been Kaelen’s lifeblood. It was the only thing that had kept him from breaking.
Kaelen turned from the view, his black cloak swirling around him like a storm gathering. “Summon the war council. It’s time Alaric Silvermoon paid his debt.”
Under the light of the new moon, Kaelen Blackfang stood before his pack. They were a hard-bitten, loyal force, wolves who had followed him from the brink of extinction. Their eyes, glowing in the darkness, were fixed on him, waiting.
“For ten years, we have lived in the shadows, licking our wounds, remembering the stench of Silvermoon treachery!” Kaelen’s voice boomed across the assembled wolves, each word a hammer blow of shared pain. “Tonight, we remind them that the fangs of a Blackfang wolf are not just for show. We will strike at their heart, not with an army, but with a challenge they cannot ignore.”
A low, hungry growl rippled through the pack. Lucian stood at his brother’s side, his face grim. The plan was audacious, dangerous, and utterly Kaelen.
“Alaric has a daughter,” Kaelen continued, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial calm. “Elara. His most precious treasure. The jewel of the Silvermoon pack. Tomorrow, we will bleed their borders. We will show them just enough of our strength to make them fear a full-scale war. And when he comes to the negotiating table, begging for a truce, I will demand his jewel.”
He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. “He will give me his daughter. She will be bound to me, the Alpha of the pack she helped destroy. And her father will watch as his beloved child becomes the living symbol of his humiliation. A prisoner in my den. That, my brothers and sisters, is how our revenge begins.”
A unified, vicious howl erupted from the pack, a cry of long-suppressed rage finally unleashed. It was a promise of pain, a declaration of intent.
Lucian watched his brother, a flicker of unease in his heart. The plan was brilliant in its cruelty. But Kaelen was playing with a fire more ancient and unpredictable than pack warfare. He was invoking the sacred rite of a blood bond, twisting it into a tool of vengeance. Such things had a way of turning on their masters.
But as he looked at the cold, merciless fire in Kaelen’s eyes, Lucian knew there was no turning back. The Alpha had returned, and he would have his pound of flesh, no matter the cost.
