The Apathetic 'Hero'
Whoever said Reincarnation or Isekai was an awesome idea, clearly wasn't living a fulfilling life. You could always see the type—they were either unattractive, broke, or had some kind of illness of the body or mind. They always think 'next life will be better.' They quit trying to make this one work. Derick wasn't the type. He was average in looks, wasn't rich or struggling financially, and he was healthy. He was the everyday Joe that had his stuff together just well enough to be considered competent. He even had a career. Or, he did... Until one day he went around a corner and found himself in a room of endless white. He wasn't even sure how he got there, or how he died for that matter. Now he's being reincarnated into a fantasy world and has been tasked with being a hero... except he has absolutely no interest in that whatsoever.
The High King
Cheiftain Cornall, a petty cheiftain in the westerly lands of Eriu, struggles against many neighboring rivals who seek to claim his lands, his people, and his cattle. The greater chiefs and petty kings wage wars against one another, drawing him in to fight alongside his overlord. Even while the chieftains and kings fight one another, they too fight against Northvik Sealords, river valley tribes, and neighboring powers like Wallian and Dacica. Cornall has long dreamt of a time without such ceaseless violence brought by endless warring and seeks out a means to end it. He is no fool, however, as he knows full well that in order to end generations of war, he will need to bring about one great war in his generation, to bring all the warring tribes together. One peoples, one land, and one High King.
